Insurance Industry: Property & Casualty Professional Education Professional development and training for employees currently working in the insurance industry or those wanting to explore this career area. This program focuses on developing practical skills in key areas related to successfully working in today’s insurance industry. True Colors – Priority Management for Staying on Track (3.5 Hours, 1 Session) You’ve heard the term “time management” for years. But we never can really manage time; all we can manage is ourselves. This self-management is so much easier when we understand our own personality style and what works best for us. “Time Management” trainings put us all in the same box with the same set of tools. Reality is, we all have our own motivators and priority systems. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to get a handle on what works for you, what keeps you motivated to accomplish your goals, and a system for staying on track no matter what style you are. True Colors – Customer Service in Color: (2.5 Hours, 1 Session) If we each have a personality style, then so do our customers! How can you tell a customer’s style? How do you respond best to that customer? How do you get the information you need from that customer? This workshop will teach you what to watch for in your customer’s body language, voice, tone, and words so that you can adapt to their style. You’ll find your customers raving about your service! Workplace Harassment This online course prepares employees to deal with difficult workplace issues by focusing on “gray areas” of interpersonal behavior and the law. - What is and what is not unlawful harassment? - Where is the line drawn between consensual dating and harassment? - Are employees allowed to display in the workplace materials demonstrating their religious beliefs? - Can a customer or a vendor's conduct toward employees cause unlawful harassment? - Do harassment rules apply at organization parties or off-site events? - When is a hug or a shoulder rub appropriate in the workplace? Landscape Design (21 hours, 7 sessions) In this hands-one class, you will be exposed to the principles of good landscape design as well as knowledge of local plan materials and landscape elements. With the instructor’s guidance, you can design your own home grounds and learn how to maintain the plant life and water features. Topics covered include: landscaping trends, gardening time line for the year, design layouts, planning your flowerbeds/trees/shrubs, soil and soil preparation and water usage/drainage issues. Arborist Certification Prep Course (48 hours, 16 class sessions). Learn fundamental knowledge and skills to assist you in developing and maintaining effective tree health care programs. Tree care professionals can use this course to prepare for the Certified Arborist Certification Exam offered through the International Society of Arboriculture. You will learn about: Tree Biology, Safe Work Practices, Pruning, Climbing & Working in Trees, Tree Identification & Selection, Soils & Water Management, Tree Nutrition & Fertilization, Tree Installation & Establishment, Tree Assessment & Risk Management , Plant Disorders & Their Diagnosis, and Plant Health Care. Event Planning Successful events require planning, coordination, and management. Pull off your next event like a pro! In three nights of class, you will learn about the event management process and best practices. You will learn how sponsorships work and how to identify potential sponsors. You will learn how to identify, prioritize, select, coordinate, and evaluate all the elements that go into the production of a truly professional event. And, finally, you will create an actual event plan utilizing all your new skills.
