Many scholarship opportunities are available through organizations, foundations, and corporations that wish to fund students attending a variety of colleges and universities. These scholarships are not limited to CWI students nor are they awarded by the College of Western Idaho. This list of external scholarships is provided as a courtesy to students and should not be considered the only sources of external scholarship funding available. There will be two separate selection pools, one for graduating high school seniors and one for current college students. Scholarships are one year in length and will be awarded in $250 increments, not to exceed $1000 per student. |

The Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) manages over 60 different scholarship funds – each customized according to the desires of the fund creator. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria, application requirements, and review process. Many of these scholarships have their own applications and deadlines, and are directed to residents of specific counties, graduates of specific high schools, or students at specific colleges. For this reason, many are administered through high school counseling offices or through a higher educational institution’s financial aid office. BSPSI is proud to offer a $300 (1st Place) and a $200.00 (2nd Place) scholarship to the winner of our yearly essay contest. This essay contest is an effort to give back to students who have chosen to pursue a career in one of the many building safety professions represented by BSPSI. Careers represented by BSPSI include: Inspectors, Plan Reviewers, Construction Managers, Architects, Engineers, and many more.
