Mark joined College of Western Idaho (CWI) in June 2023 as Vice President of Advancement. His primary objective is to build a productive advancement division at CWI to support students. Leading the Advancement team, Mark is focused on facilitating philanthropy, growing donations, and engaging alumni.
Mark came to CWI from Utah Valley University (UVU), where he was Vice President of Advancement. Before UVU, he was Senior Executive Director of Advancement for the Huntsman Mental Health Institution and the Neuroscience Initiative at University of Utah. Before moving to Utah, Mark spent 16 years in Idaho working in higher education. Mark led development and alumni teams at Boise State University and Idaho State University.
Mark is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), which is a credential that is the global standard for fundraising professionals. He is also in the final stages of getting his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Boise State University. He hopes to complete his dissertation in 2024. His research area is philanthropy in higher education and network theory.
